In April some of the staff at Pulse Control Systems were lucky enough to embark on a trip to Europe for the annual Hannover Fair (Messe) and to visit Siemens factories in Germany and France. This trip was an incredibly fruitful one, as it offered our staff insights into global trends, the very best industry practices and a glimpse into the future of automation.
The Hannover Fair is described as the worlds leading trade show for industrial technology and automation. At this gathering, our team was able to witness the most cutting-edge technologies, some of which will only be available commercially in the coming years. A large emphasis on display was Industry 4.0 and how Siemens is changing the game with their advancements and innovation. Exploration of the fair allowed us to experience the coming together of multiple companies from across the world and see what they had to offer.
Beyond the Fair, we were also fortunate enough to visit Siemens factories in Germany and France. This allowed our staff to gain further experience by witnessing the manufacturing process of the products that they work with on a daily basis. In France, we were able to meet with the technical team at the centre of competence for flow metering. The factory tour we went on allowed us to see how Electromagnetic Flowmeters are made and how the state of the art robotic distribution center makes sure every delivery is on schedule. The trained professionals at Siemens were extremely welcoming and even allowed us the opportunity to watch the fully automated process of manufacturing Siemens Coriolus Flowmeters using robots.
The trip was a massive success and we were even able to traverse Germany and France to interact with the local people. Our staff were incredibly grateful for the opportunity and felt that it was a huge learning experience for them. These accomplishments were made possible with the help of Siemens South Africa. We would like to thank Siemens for the opportunity we had as a team and the hospitality shown to us during our stay.
