In early 2017 Pulse was contacted by a company with a request to automate a salt disposal plant of theirs. This plant was located In Pinetown and had Pulse identifying exactly what needed to be done and offering a solution. Having had success with instruments and small automation projects with the organisation in the past, we knew that we could effectively complete the task at hand.
With their process being previously manual, they were not able to adhere to safety and control standards. Pulse offered an automated solution which would endsure the process ran safely and reliably. The products used were the S7 range of PLC and WINCC SCADA packages for automation, SITRANS LR250, and LC200 level instruments.
The organisation had a 2-week shut down in April which allowed for us to complete installation and commissioning onsite. In order to successfully complete this project. Offsite work commenced in February, which included procurement and panel building. Pulse ensured the plant was successfully commissioned in time for start-up. After the success of the salt disposal plant, Pulse is currently automating the rest of the processes for the company, this also includes a new MCC panel and SCADA design.
